Refund policy.

Local Vouchers is a platform. The venue is the seller and the merchant of record for your purchase — the payment goes to the venue’s own account, and the contract for the event or the voucher is between you and them. Local Vouchers acts as their agent in taking the payment and issuing the voucher.

That matters for refunds: the venue decides, not us. We can only process what the venue asks us to.

A voucher can be refunded at the issuing venue’s discretion while it is unredeemed and unexpired. Once any part of it has been spent it cannot be refunded.

Where a refund is agreed, the service fee paid at purchase is not returned.

Online purchases often carry a 14-day right to change your mind. Gift vouchers are excluded from it once issued, because the voucher is delivered to you immediately. This is why the position above is stricter than you may be used to when buying goods online.

Nothing on this page removes or limits your rights under Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022. If the service you paid for is not delivered, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of what this policy says. If you believe that applies to you, contact the venue first — and us if you cannot reach them.

A refund goes back to the card used for the original payment. There is no other route — we cannot pay it to a different card or by transfer. Depending on your bank it usually appears within five to ten working days.

Gift vouchers bought through this platform are valid for five years from the date of issue, meeting the minimum set by the Consumer Protection (Gift Vouchers) Act 2019.

A voucher carried over from a venue’s previous system keeps the expiry date it was originally issued with, which may be shorter. The date on your voucher is the one that applies.

Expiry does not entitle you to a refund, but a voucher inside its term can always be spent.
